Bruce Onobrakpeya

Bruce Onobrakpeya is a seminal Nigerian printmaker, painter, and sculptor, widely recognized as a foundational figure of modern and contemporary Nigerian art. As a member of the influential Zaria Art Society (Zaria Rebels) formed in the late 1950s, he pioneered artistic techniques such as plastograph printmaking while blending Urhobo folklore, philosophy, and Christian iconography with modernist abstraction.
