Njideka Akunyili Crosby is a Nigerian-born visual artist known for her complex figurative compositions that weave together photo transfers, acrylic, pastel, and collage. Her work explores figurative representation, post-colonial cultural identity, and transnational family narratives, drawing on her dual experience of living in Nigeria and the United States. She was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2017.
