Rui Chafes
Rui Chafes is a major Portuguese contemporary sculptor renowned for his matte black welded iron sculptures that evoke romanticism, pain, silence, and spiritual transcendence. He represented Portugal at the 46th Venice Biennale in 1995 and again at the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013 alongside film director Pedro Costa.
